Very sad. The simple sentences, almost unemotional and just describing what she saw, are very effective. The book is for children, but it is good for adults, too.

I sometimes wonder if there is a need to portray the aftermath of that day graphically, as seen at the Museum in the Peace Park and also in this book. But I guess there is, or people won't get it.

Some children may find the pictures in the book scary. But after all that was what happened, and we need to face the truth, however cruel it may be. You can't pretty up something like this.
