De-Lovely (五線譜のラブレター)五線譜のラブレター 特別編 [DVD]
A biopic of Cole Porter. It was OK. I like Kevin Kline and he did a good job. I have always liked Ashley Judd. She has appeared in some not-so-great movies, but nevertheless, I think she is a decent actress, and besides she is really pretty. Once I saw her on a late-night talk show, and she showed up wearing a T shirt that said "This is what a feminist looks like." So cool.
The first Cole Porter song I realized I liked was "Love for Sale." I was 15. My Dad had a Manhattan Transfer CD on one night, and I thought it sounded great. I'm sure I had heard his songs before that because my Dad often had this kind of music on. I have liked Cole Porter since (thus, my love for Woody Allen movies). I'm sure people who don't know who he is have heard his songs. Lots of TV commercials use them. "Night and Day" anyone?
Hm. Maybe I'll buy his CDs. I'm in the mood for classy love songs...
