Laura BushがWhite House correspondents' dinnerでしたスピーチ。VERY funny. They have an excellent speech writer. The part I laughed the most was:

前から気になっていたのだ、ジョージの"nuclear"の発音。彼はニューキュラーと言う。こう発音する人がときどきいる。そういう発音もありなのかと辞書を調べたくらいだ。非標準の発音として載っている辞書もある。"Bush can't pronounce 'nuclear'"で検索したら、１７３件ヒット。"the president," "nuclear," "nucler," "pronunciation"などの単語の色々な組み合わせで検索したら、何万件もヒット。みなさん結構気になっているようで笑った。

唸ったのがここにあったこれ。

I'd rather have a president that can't pronounce nuclear than one that has to say "oral sex" under oath.

この間書いたアトランタの逃げた花嫁が謝罪文を公表したらしい。結婚におじけづいたわけでも、婚約者と別れようと思ったのでもなく、現時点では全部説明できないが、 "I was simply running away from myself and from certain fears controlling my life."らしい。混乱しておいでのようである。「事件」発生から毎日何かとメディアに取り上げられていて、お忙しいことであろう。昼間のトークショウとか、彼女を出演させようと躍起になってんじゃないの。しかしでかい目。ナイス歯並び。
