Walked around looking for the coin operated laundromat I found on the internet. I just wanted to find the place first, so I was not carrying any laundry. It turned out to be a smart thing because I could not find it. For some reason, the location the map on the phone gave me today was different from before. It seems to be further than I thought, closer to the next subway station. But the phone did not get my current location right today, so who knows where anything really is.

I got dizzy from walking in the sun, so decided to go into the department store around the corner to cool down. It is a nice store with a lot of luxury stuff. The people shopping there were nicely dressed, carrying designer label bags, some even small dogs (eeek). It was quite a contrast from the street vendors sitting on the side street in the hot sun. Made me sad a bit.

Just like the department stores in Japan, they have depachika where a lot of goodies are sold. Many of the shops have counters where people can sit and eat. You see that in Japan, too, although it may not be to the extent here. I mean, I have never seen a mini kaiten-zushi in the open space of depachika. The size of the shop was not that big, I don't know if there was a need for the dishes to be carried on the conveyor belt. I guess it is just for fun.

When I was checking my phone by the exit of the store, two young men in suits came walking towards me. One stood so close to me I looked up to see what was going on. He was holding his phone to take a picture of another man who was bowing by the doors as if to greet customers. There were no customers coming in or leaving, so it was just a pose for the picture. I don't know what it was about, but it was strange. Maybe they were playing department store. Maybe they go to a hotel next to do the same to play hotel. I should have taken his picture, too.

I walked out of the department store and onto the usual supermarket. They have a cafe by the entrance (there are cafes EVERYWHERE here). It was pretty loud with chatty mothers with their kids just out of school, but I was thirsty and decided to get yogurt smoothie. Cold drinks really are refreshing in this heat. Kakigo-ri seems to be popular here, too. I saw three women sharing one big bowl.

When I was done with the smoothie, I went to the store, got a toilet bowl cleaner and walked home.
